Boots on the Ground for Heroes '24

Operation Stand Down Rhode Island (OSDRI) is requesting volunteers for the
2024 Boots on the Ground for Heroes Memorial

Set-up will be at Fort Adams in Newport, RI. Volunteer duties consist of lifting/carrying containers over 30lbs as well as bending and kneeling to lace, tag and clean boots. Additionally, American flags will be placed at every boot. Volunteers should be able to bend, kneel and walk. If you are participating in a group, every person must register individually so we have an accurate account of volunteers.

Set-up days are:

Tuesday, May 21st from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

&

Wednesday, May 22nd from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Breakdown day will be held on

Tuesday, May 28th from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Volunteers for breakdown will be asked to assist with the packing and removal of the memorial. Physical expectations for breakdown are consistent with set-up.

*Volunteers MUST sign up individually, regardless of plans to participate as a group.

**This event will proceed rain or shine. Account for inclement weather and please monitor the e-mail used for registering to sign up.
